It's been a while...R U going GREEN?
Tuesday, June 10, 2008

Hello my little invisible readers! It's been a while (like the song) since i've been here but I have an excuse, piddly though it may seem. I've had all sorts of writing deadlines that I've missed because I've been in a royal funk lately having hit a creative brick wall.

The only way I've been able to deal with this blockage of my brainwaves and synapses is to maniacally clean and re-organize everything in the house. Which is not a bad thing especially since I am trying to go as green as possible and think of ways to "re-purpose" everything I can find!

I do have some recycled articles that I use as art on my walls.  I bought a silver (real, I think) antique shell purse with some tiny sequins and a looooonnnng chain strap in Hawaii (Oahu, Honolulu) last year and decided to hang it from a nail on the wall. Looks pretty cool if I do say so myself!

Hey, if anyone has any cool "re-purposing" ideas for household goods I'd really love to have you post them here! Which brings to mind another question: Anyone reading this (yes, a double meaning!), are you trying to go green or am I the lone clearblogs do-gooder?

Gotta run for now, but I just want to point out one little entertainment tidbit: Hey, I called the Lindsey Lohan fiasco first right on this little blog when those creepy photos first popped up! Ya' work in Hollywood, ya' just know these things.

So back to the GREEN thing, let me know your ideas, tips and what YOU'RE doing to go green. And NO I AM NOT JUMPING ON THE GREEN WAGON! I was into conservation when I was 12 in 1969! Only it wasn't called "Green" back then. No big deal though. As long as people will do it, I don't care who gets the credit (except for the Lohan thing) or who did what when. Just do it please.  And I don't mean you have to run out and buy some expensive hybrid vehicle. Just try to do something, anything, a little every day. Perhaps one small thing. Perhaps change the light bulbs. Maybe take your old spraypaint and paint in cans to your local recycling center (this may take a bit of research). Maybe take your electronics to the same or a similar place or service.  Maybe turn off the water when you brush your teeth--yeah, I know it's a bit irritating at first, but you will get used to it.

And post your ideas or any green tips here! Maybe I can come up with some way to acknowledge your contribution in some way.  I could MAYBE post your tips and credit you on my other blogs. Gotta think about that.

Okay, I really do have to go now, let me know your thoughts, attitudes, challenges, mood changes, etc.!

Love ya'
