Teacher Training Starts on Monday!

Posted at 05:57, Wednesday, July 9, 2008

Hey all!

I've had my nose to the grind stone getting ready for the new Reed Certification Program that starts this upcoming Monday!  For those who are enrolled, I really look forward to meeting you and enjoying the journey!!

I've also been working avidly on the opening of my second yoga studio in the Tampa area.  So, between the cert program and the new studio -- I'm busy, busy, busy!  (Which hopefully explains why I've been so LAME in getting more blog entries!)

Alfia, I saw your comment in the previous posting that you're worried about the daunting 55-hour work week in the training program.  :-)  I've worked really hard to pace things out reasonably, so we should be tired -- but we should also be able to have a lot of fun and laughs along the way.  So, NO WORRIES!

Thanks to all the wonderful friends who posted KIND WORDS on the previous blog entry!  Believe it or not, when you put yourself out there in television land, you get some VERY interesting and VERY mean people who call and send emails to you.  (Most comments I can't repeat in a public setting!)  So, you can't imagine how much I enjoy hearing the NICE comments from people who practice with me regularly and/or were introduced to yoga through my shows.  I am honored to be in your homes each day/week!!

And, finally, Lama Jigme asked about asanas (poses) to strengthen the biceps and pulling muscles of the upper body in the previous posting.  I would suggest: Chaturanga Dandasana (upper and lower plank positions), many of the arm balancing postures like Crow, and Side Plank.  I would also suggest half-handstand pushups, which I present on some of the upper body / core television shows in my series.

Take care, everyone!  and keep writing with your questions and comments!!!

Enjoy your summer,

Adrienne

Hi, Adrienne;

I am not too worried! In fact, I am truly looking forward to the experience. We do not get your tv programs here, in DC, but I have your DVDs and love them very much. If I get to be like you even in a small way by the end of the progam, this time will be well spent.

Adrienne - I just want to wish you the best of luck with your teacher certification program as well as the opening of your second yoga studio!
My husband and I are fortunate to live in the Tampa Bay area and to be taking private yoga instruction with you. We are honored to have you as a teacher as well as a friend! The students who cross your path will be truly blessed with the knowledge you impart.
Best wishes! Joanne & Stanley

Adrienne, you're influencing people clear over in Wyoming. I so desperately wish I could be in Florida this week. Someday when my 4 kiddos aren't so dependent on mom (not that I'm trying to rush that :)) my husband plans to fly me to one of your certification programs.

<br>I do have a question. I am experiencing really bad pains on the outsides of my wrists. They hurt mostly when the joint is moved in a lateral motion or when I twist them. Peeling a banana or turning the timer on my washing machine cause me pain. Some days the pain is bad enough that I fill it in my pinkies and my elbows. I never feel pain when I'm actually doing yoga, but the hours after are terrible. Any suggestions?
