Teacher Training a Great Success!

Posted at 06:30, Friday, July 25, 2008

Hey all -

Thanks to everyone who participated in my Certification Program from July 14 thru 18.  It was a great bunch of people, and we had an intense, tiring, busy, informative, and really FUN time!  I think it's great that everyone learned so much from the course work and from one another, and we were able to laugh and enjoy the journey along the way.

I just announced the next dates for training - September 8 thru 12.  So if you missed me the first time, you have a chance to join the last program I'll be presenting in 2008.  (The next one won't be until sometime early in 2009!)

Thanks to everyone who logged on and added best wishes and kind words from all over the country!  Right back atcha -- I appreciate you all as well!

In the last entry, DJ asked about pain in her wrists that she has been experiencing.  I know that people with 'weak' wrists experience achiness when they first start practicing yoga from poses like down dog, chaturanga and many arm balancing poses.  That achiness typically improves, however, once the muscles in the arms, wrists and upper body strengthen.   It certainly does NOT sound like what you're experiencing.  So, I hate to say it -- but I would go get that checked out by a doctor and see if there's something else going on there.

I've started early discussions with a public television station to possibly film more power yoga television shows.  I'm not sure what will happen here yet, but I'm always looking for ways to improve upon what I've already put out there!  So, keep your fingers crossed that this will work out!

Take care, everyone, and I hope you are all enjoying your summer!!

Sincerely,

 Adrienne

Hips hurting

Posted by Jen at 02:01, Friday, August 1, 2008

Hi Adrienne,

I did your yoga program today on WUSF, it was a program specializing in the hips. I've always know that my hips have been a bit of a problem, but todays problem really brought it to the forefront. The pigeon pose was especially painful. My hips have hurt for some years now, do you think that yoga will be good for the pain and strengthening them or detrimental to their health?

Thanks,
Jen from Tampa
