Artist Spotlight: Ruth Sadi El, In Honor of Art and Music Month

Delaware Native, Ruth Sadi El is a reader, writer and artist. She is currently working on four manuscripts and three collections of poetry. Ruth is a grandmother of 8 and great grandmother of 2. Her inspiration from her poetry or art comes from comes from God Allah because it is His gift to me that makes me want to create and see the beauty in all that He has created. Ruth is moved and inspired by what she feels at a particular moment, seeing and feeling the struggles of a people in this era of time, not knowing who they truly are and settling on the names that another race chooses to call them.

 

Furthermore, she is inspires by her connections to her Ancient Forefathers, feeling their love and creativity as a whole people filled with race pride. Additionally, Ruth’s inspired by life, because life is to be celebrated and lived to its fullest. Also, is inspired by all that Creator God has created; the flowers, their scent but most importantly their colors.

 

She is a member of Black Author Showcase networking group. Ruth believes that
“our life is Color Coded.” She loves painting and has over 200 pieces of abstract art (designs and flowers) in her collection.

 

Ruth’s poetry and abstract art are both energetic and very vivid both in subject and composition, as well as the usage of words, rhythm and color. Her style is very unique.
