Sunrise
illumines my souls
like rhythms of Mother Africa
dynamic and powerful
like thunder
fierce like the lions roar
vivid like heat and pain from fire burns
striking and loud
like the hurdles of labor
pitfalls of losing loved ones
essential
like the rising of a new day
watching the smiles
touching and feeling the heat within spirit
nurturing and radiant
like waves in the water.
