PSALMS 43
1 Judge me, O God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation: O deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man.
2 For thou art the God of my strength: why dost thou cast me off? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?
3 O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles.
4 Then will I go unto the altar of God, unto God my exceeding joy: yea, upon the harp will I praise thee, O God my God.
5 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.
PSALMS 43
* David endeavours to still his spirit, with hope and confidence
in God.
- As to the quarrel God had with David for sin, he prays, Enter
not into judgment with me, if Thou doest so I shall be
condemned; but as to the quarrel his enemies had with him, he
prays, Lord, judge me, and in thy providence appear on my
behalf. If we cannot comfort ourselves in God, we may stay
ourselves upon him, and may have spiritual supports, when we
want spiritual delights. He never cast off any that trusted in
him, whatever fears they may have had of their own state. We
need desire no more to make us happy, than the good that flow
from God's favour, and is included in his promise. Those whom
God leads, he leads to his holy hill; those, therefore, who
pretend to be led by the Spirit, and yet turn their backs upon
ordinance, deceive themselves. We are still to pray for the
Spirit of light and truth, who supplies the want of Christ's
bodily presence, to guide us in the way to heaven. Whatever we
rejoice or triumph in, the Lord must be the joy of it. David
applies to God as his never-failing hope. Let us pray earnestly,
that the Lord would send forth the truth of his word, and the
light of his Spirit, to guide us into the way of holiness,
peace, and salvation. The desire of the Christian, like that of
the prophet in distress, is to be saved from sin as well as
sorrow; to be taught in the way of righteousness by the light of
heavenly wisdom, shining in Jesus Christ, and to be led by this
light and truth to the New Jerusalem.

PSALMS 42
1 To the chief Musician, Maschil, for the sons of Korah. As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.
2 My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?
3 My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually say unto me, Where is thy God?
4 When I remember these things , I pour out my soul in me: for I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holyday.
5 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.
6 O my God, my soul is cast down within me: therefore will I remember thee from the land of Jordan, and of the Hermonites, from the hill Mizar.

PSALMS 42
* The conflict in the soul of a believer.
#1-5 The psalmist looked to the Lord as his chief good, and set
his heart upon him accordingly; casting anchor thus at first, he
rides out the storm. A gracious soul can take little
satisfaction in God's courts, if it do not meet with God himself
there. Living souls never can take up their rest any where short
of a living God. To appear before the Lord is the desire of the
upright, as it is the dread of the hypocrite. Nothing is more
grievous to a gracious soul, than what is intended to shake its
confidence in the Lord. It was not the remembrance of the
pleasures of his court that afflicted David; but the remembrance
of the free access he formerly had to God's house, and his
pleasure in attending there. Those that commune much with their
own hearts, will often have to chide them. See the cure of
sorrow. When the soul rests on itself, it sinks; if it catches
hold on the power and promise of God, the head is kept above the
billows. And what is our support under present woes but this,
that we shall have comfort in Him. We have great cause to mourn
for sin; but being cast down springs from unbelief and a
rebellious will; we should therefore strive and pray against it.
#6-11 The way to forget our miseries, is to remember the God of
our mercies. David saw troubles coming from God's wrath, and
that discouraged him. But if one trouble follow hard after
another, if all seem to combine for our ruin, let us remember
they are all appointed and overruled by the Lord. David regards
the Divine favour as the fountain of all the good he looked for.
In the Saviour's name let us hope and pray. One word from him
will calm every storm, and turn midnight darkness into the light
of noon, the bitterest complaints into joyful praises. Our
believing expectation of mercy must quicken our prayers for it.
At length, is faith came off conqueror, by encouraging him to
trust in the name of the Lord, and to stay himself upon his God.
He adds, And my God; this thought enabled him to triumph over
all his griefs and fears. Let us never think that the God of our
life, and the Rock of our salvation, has forgotten us, if we
have made his mercy, truth, and power, our refuge. Thus the
psalmist strove against his despondency: at last his faith and
hope obtained the victory. Let us learn to check all unbelieving
doubts and fears. Apply the promise first to ourselves, and then
plead it to God.

2 The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies.
3 The LORD will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness.
4 I said, LORD, be merciful unto me: heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee.
5 Mine enemies speak evil of me, When shall he die, and his name perish?
6 And if he come to see me , he speaketh vanity: his heart gathereth iniquity to itself; when he goeth abroad, he telleth it .
7 All that hate me whisper together against me: against me do they devise my hurt.
8 An evil disease, say they , cleaveth fast unto him: and now that he lieth he shall rise up no more.
9 Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.
10 But thou, O LORD, be merciful unto me, and raise me up, that I may requite them.
11 By this I know that thou favorest me, because mine enemy doth not triumph over me.
12 And as for me, thou upholdest me in mine integrity, and settest me before thy face forever.

PSALMS 41
* God's care for his people. (1-4) The treachery of David's
enemies. (5-13)
#1-4 The people of God are not free from poverty, sickness, or
outward affliction, but the Lord will consider their case, and
send due supplies. From his Lord's example the believer learns
to consider his poor and afflicted brethren. This branch of
godliness is usually recompensed with temporal blessings. But
nothing is so distressing to the contrite believer, as a fear or
sense of the Divine displeasure, or of sin in his heart. Sin is
the sickness of the soul; pardoning mercy heals it, renewing
grace heals it, and for this spiritual healing we should be more
earnest than for bodily health.
#5-13 We complain, and justly, of the want of sincerity, and
that there is scarcely any true friendship to be found among
men; but the former days were no better. One particularly, in
whom David had reposed great confidence, took part with his
enemies. And let us not think it strange, if we receive evil
from those we suppose to be friends. Have not we ourselves thus
broken our words toward God? We eat of his bread daily, yet lift
up the heel against him. But though we may not take pleasure in
the fall of our enemies, we may take pleasure in the making vain
their designs. When we can discern the Lord's favour in any
mercy, personal or public, that doubles it. If the grace of God
did not take constant care of us, we should not be upheld. But
let us, while on earth, give heartfelt assent to those praises
which the redeemed on earth and in heaven render to their God
and Saviour.

PSALMS 40
1 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.
2 He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.
3 And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it , and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.
4 Blessed is that man that maketh the LORD his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.
5 Many, O LORD my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to usward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them , they are more than can be numbered.
6 Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required.
7 Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me,
8 I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.
9 I have preached righteousness in the great congregation: lo, I have not refrained my lips, O LORD, thou knowest.
10 I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great congregation.
11 Withhold not thou thy tender mercies from me, O LORD: let thy lovingkindness and thy truth continually preserve me.
12 For innumerable evils have compassed me about: mine iniquities have taken hold upon me, so that I am not able to look up; they are more than the hairs of mine head: therefore my heart faileth me.
13 Be pleased, O LORD, to deliver me: O LORD, make haste to help me.
14 Let them be ashamed and confounded together that seek after my soul to destroy it; let them be driven backward and put to shame that wish me evil.
15 Let them be desolate for a reward of their shame that say unto me, Aha, aha.
16 Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: let such as love thy salvation say continually, The LORD be magnified.
17 But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon me: thou art my help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God.
PSALMS 40
* Confidence for deliverance. (1-5) Christ's work of redemption.
(6-10) Prayer for mercy and grace. (11-17)
#1-5 Doubts and fears about the eternal state, are a horrible
pit and miry clay, and have been so to many a dear child of God.
There is power enough in God to help the weakest, and grace
enough to help the unworthiest of all that trust in him. The
psalmist waited patiently; he continued believing, hoping, and
praying. This is applicable to Christ. His agony, in the garden
and on the cross, was a horrible pit and miry clay. But those
that wait patiently for God do not wait in vain. Those that have
been under religious melancholy, and by the grace of God have
been relieved, may apply ver. #2| very feelingly to themselves;
they are brought up out of a horrible pit. Christ is the Rock on
which a poor soul can alone stand fast. Where God has given
stedfast hope, he expects there should be a steady, regular walk
and conduct. God filled the psalmist with joy, as well as peace
in believing. Multitudes, by faith beholding the sufferings and
glory of Christ, have learned to fear the justice and trust in
the mercy of God through Him. Many are the benefits with which
we are daily loaded, both by the providence and by the grace of
God.
#6-10 The psalmist foretells that work of wonder, redemption by
our Lord Jesus Christ. The Substance must come, which is Christ,
who must bring that glory to God, and that grace to man, which
it was impossible the sacrifices should ever do. Observe the
setting apart of our Lord Jesus to the work and office of
Mediator. In the volume, or roll, of the book it was written of
him. In the close rolls of the Divine decrees and counsel, the
covenant of redemption was recorded. Also, in all the volumes of
the Old Testament something was written of him, #Joh 19:28|. Now
the purchase of our salvation is made, the proclamation is sent
forth, calling us to come and accept it. It was preached freely
and openly. Whoever undertook to preach the gospel of Christ,
would be under great temptation to conceal it; but Christ, and
those he calls to that work, are carried on in it. May we
believe his testimony, trust his promise, and submit to his
authority.
#11-17 The best saints see themselves undone, unless continually
preserved by the grace of God. But see the frightful view the
psalmist had of sin. This made the discovery of a Redeemer so
welcome. In all his reflections upon each step of his life, he
discovered something amiss. The sight and sense of our sins in
their own colours, must distract us, if we have not at the same
time some sight of a Saviour. If Christ has triumphed over our
spiritual enemies, then we, through him, shall be more than
conquerors. This may encourage all that seek God and love his
salvation, to rejoice in him, and to praise him. No griefs nor
poverty can render those miserable who fear the Lord. Their God,
and all that he has or does, is the ground of their joy. The
prayer of faith can unlock his fulness, which is adapted to all
their wants. The promises are sure, the moment of fulfilment
hastens forward. He who once came in great humility, shall come
again in glorious majesty.

Renee is a friend of mine whose husband had been wrongfully accused of molesting a 13 year old. The evidence in his favor is huge and the evidence against him is nothing more than the word of the girl. In email this young girl has just so much as admitted to doing it for revenge but has truinied this mansd life. he ahs a family he can barely take care of as jobs are hard to find for him now. renee is just asking for prayer as they try to clear his name as evidence mounts against this young girl. Renn herself was a victim of child molestation and runs an organization to fight it...she would in no way try to protect her husband if there was any evidence against him. Evon

I took dad to the Dr. this morning to see what could be causing his short term memory/disorientation problems. After revieiwing everything the Dr. said he was pretty sure that with dad's age, his previous brain surgery and mini-strokes that this was a combination of Alzheimers and the mini-strokes. They did a bunch of tests on dad today. He is also scheduled for an MRI tomorrow morning and an EKG tomorrow afternoon.
Dad's attutude is very good. He is still just as sweet and precious as ever. It's as if he didn't hear the same diagnosis that I heard. I, on the other hand, am a basket case. I am trying to be strong for my dad and the kids and not breakdown around them but I am REALLY going to need everyone to not only pray for my sweet dad but for me.
I have heard that there are some good medicines out there for Alzheimers these days. I am just praying that they may help delay things for MANY years.
I appreciate ALL of you and your prayers, sweet messages and words of encouragement!

please pray for Yanesi Fernandex and her family. She has been inprisioned and I am guessing for some unfair reason. A child is no motherless and the family is very upset. I am guessing it ahs to do with from Cuba contacting family in America. Prayers would be very much appreciated. God bless you all. +
I know I havent been in here a whole in the past few months but I have been very ill and just keeping to myself. (long story) but I wanted to come in now and ask a favor of all of you.
I have a friend (well to me she is still and again a long story I dont care to go into as that is my skeletons I have to bear) that is going thru some hard times. I can't go into details as it isn't something that should be made public but lets just say she has her obstacles and is struggling to over come them. I prayed that the Lord show me the way to help her and I made a mess of it and so I am asking you all to pray for her now. She deserves to be happy (like all of god's children) and I am unable to be there for her (thru faults of my own). I worry about her, I will always worry about her and I pray for her each night that she finally finds the happiness that she so deserves.
Please keep her in your prayers. All I can say is her name is Tracy and she means a great deal to me. You all have been so wonderful and it really helps when I come in here and see all of the love that you all have for all. Please shed some of that love and happiness and prayers to Tracy and pray she finds her path in life and it leads her to happiness and love she so deserves.
I just completed hosting a day of prayer and fasting that began yesterday at 6pm and although the official event is now over since tonight at 6pm I have not broken my fast yet. I am sure it is due to the fact that the Lord knows all things and knew the trials that I was about to be faced with this evening. I just want to ask that you all would pray for protection for myself and my family. I know that the fast has strengthened me to be ready to stand firm in my faith but I also know that I have an enemy that desires to devour my household at this time. So please pray for the Lord to put a hedge of protection around my family, my home and vehicle as well as our places of employment.
Heavenly Father, I come before your throne of grace in the name of your Son Jesus Christ to ask for your protection against the powers of darkness, which come to disrupt our lives. You are our shield and our fortress, and our refuge when we are in distress. There is no one stronger than you Lord. I trust in you Lord and believe fully that you are able to keep my family safe in this hour. Whenever I am afraid I know that you are there watching over me. Thank you for your protection and security. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, I call out the angelic host for full protection of my mind, soul and body and also my children's mind souls and bodies. Thank you Lord for watching over us. In the name of Jesus I declare that no weapons formed by Satan against us will prosper. Come Holy Spirit, and help me to put on the Armor of God, according to Ephesians 6:10. I especially take hold of the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God, to defend myself against Satan and demolish his strongholds. HI everyone, I live with my aunt and uncle, and I have for a few months, and lately I have been struggling, because even though my aunt says she is a Christian her actions are far from that. If you all would just pray that I can be a witness for her and my uncle and cousins, and that I am not tempted to follow their ways, I would appreciate that. Now thanks to this wavering walk with Him I am on the verge of losing a very good friend of mine who has been there for me through thick and thin! I really don't want to lose her as a friend unless it's God's will... Now about my relationship with Him... I've made some big mistakes in life as we all have correct? BOBBY (AGE 42) WAS IN A VERY BAD MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT WHERE HE LOST HIS LEFT LEG AND HIS COLON BURST, WHICH CAUSED HIM SEPTIC POISONING AND SHOCK, CARDIAC ARREST, SEVERAL DIFFERENT SERIOUS INTERNAL INFECTIOINS, AND AN INDUCED COMA. HE HAS BEEN IN THE HOSPITAL FOR 32 DAYS NOW. A DRUG BOBBY WAS TAKING TO FIGHT OFF THE ONE INFECTION ENDED UP CAUSING INTERNAL BLEEDING, SO THEY HAD TO TAKE HIM OFF OF IT. THERE IS STILL ANOTHER INFECTION THAT'S THROUGHOUT HIS WHOLE BODY AND WON'T GO AWAY WITH THE DRUG THAT CAUSED INTERNAL BLEEDING OR ANTIBIOTICS. SO, NOW THEY ARE STARTING TO TAKE HIM OUT OF THE COMA SO THAT HE AND HIS BODY CAN FIGHT THE INFECTION OFF ON THEIR OWN. PLEASE PRAY THAT HE COMES OUT OF THE COMA OKAY, HE DOESN'T SUFFER ANY PAIN AND THAT HE'S ABLE TO FIGHT OFF THIS INFECTION AND LIVE!!! Update - 4 days ago: He has now been in the hospital for 35 days and is starting to make some improvements, but he still has this very serious internal infection throughout his whole body that only he can fight off. please pray that God gives him the strength to keep fighting!!
Update - 3 days ago: Bobby opened his eyes tonight for the first time and smiled at his brother!! He is really doing great and i truly believe it is because of God and all of your prayers...thank you so much!!
Update - 1 day ago: Bobby had a very bad night last night. he had surgery yesterday and now his vitals are bad and blood pressure is very low. he now has a lung disease that 50% of people who have it live and the other 50% die. It has been this rollercoaster ride since July 2nd. Every time we get good news, something bad happens. He takes two steps forward and one step back. They have to give him blood transfusions to help his blood pressure and to help flush the infection. Please pray that he pulls through today and that tomorrow will be a better day. Pray that he is not in pain and that he will stay with us!
Please pray for my brother in law, Jason. His brain tumour has returned. He will be operated on tomorrow, July 31 and begin aggressive chemo soon. Jason and Allyson refuse to give up. Please pray for a miracle for our precious and much loved Jason. Lord, please give them strength and faith to overcome this. Jason is only 30 yo and otherwise strong and healthy. Please keep Jason and Allyson in your prayers as his operation date gets closer. Dear Lord, Angels, Saints please be with Jason and Allyson keeping them strong in their faith in you. Update - 10 days ago: As Jason can no longer work, They have decided to sell the home they purchased only a year ago. Please pray that this is a stress free and fast process and that they are able to pay their loan off and just concentrate on Jason's full recovery. Update - about 10 hours ago: Jason and Allyson are going to the hospital today for Jason's pre sugery scans etc. Lord, please bless us with the miracle of finding no cancer. Miracles happen everyday! We have such strong faith that we will be blessed with Jason being happy, healthy and safe for a,long, long time to come. Thank you to everyone for your loving prayers and support. Update - about 6 hours ago: My sister Allyson just called and said that Jason's operation has been moved to tomorrow!. She asked if you could please keep Jason in your prayers. We are ever so grateful.
Update - about 1 hour ago: Jason is due for his surgery tomorrow morning. The doctors have said it will be a four hour operation. Everyone's prayers have helped all of us remain positive so thank you very, very much. Please continue to pray for our beloved Jason, we have faith that with all your prayers, we will be granted a miracle of a long, happy, healthy life for Jason. My best friend Lacy O'Brien, who is only 19, was diagnosed with brain cancer 2 months ago. We recieved bad news yesterday that a 2nd site has formed. Her surival odds have went from 85% to the 30-40% range. Please keep her in your prayers.
My brother has a problem with alcohol that has really had him hit rock bottom. Of course, he doesn't believe he has a problem so it is very difficult to help him. I have had to kick him out of my home for not following my rules and I am very worried about him making it on his own. However, I can not allow him to drink in my house and provide him food and shelter. Please pray for him to realize that he needs help and for me to have the strength to Let go and Let God. This is so much more difficult than I could ever have imagined.
Update - about 18 hours ago: This picture is of my brother two and a half years ago when he had to have brain surgery because he hit his head on concrete after he'd been drinking. I'm very worried that if he allows himself to drink there will be another time similar to this and he will not survive. Dear Lord Please watch over him and guide him to fight the demons that hold onto him.

Yesterday, I received news that one of my favourite uncles, my mum's brother, has just committed suicide. What hurts is that I know what it is like to be at the brink and feel as though there is no one to turn to, but somehow I was pulled back. No one knows why he did it but all I ask is you pray for him and his soul. Please also pray for his family - he has left a wife and 3 children. In addition please pray for all of who suffer from depression and loneliness and feel there is no way out. Thank you.
Update - 6 days ago: Father I continue to pray for uncle and pray that you may open your arms to him. I don't know why he chose to take his own life but I do know what a wonderful person he was. How he made us laugh and smile, how he took care of me as a child, how he loved all children, his mother. I am asking that you forgive him - i pray that i will receive an answer to my prayer. I will continue to seek his salvation and I pray he will find it. I pray that as he knocks on the door to heaven, you may open the door. I know i am not the only one praying for him... i will continue to pray without ceasing.
