New Year, New Habits

So 2008 is upon us, and once again I marvel at how time seems to fly by, yet drag all at the same time.
In true cliche fashion, I am starting the year with a resolution of sorts. My aim is to knit only from my stash and not buy any more until it is down to a resonable level. (Join the Burnin' Up the Stash 2008 group on Ravelry). It's not that I have that much (in comparision to some people who have whole rooms dedicated to yarn), I just think I should get some of the intended projects I have planned out of the way before I get carried away. I think I just can't knit fast enough, because most of my stash does have a purpose, it's just taking a while to get there.
The only exception to this resolution is anything I bought in 2007 but haven't recieved yet (like the rest of my Hip Knits projects. What a mistake signing up to that!).
Okay, so here are the latest pics from my WIPs. I made myself a sock out of the Hempwol I got from the UK Stitch and Bitch Day. It worked up really quickly but I think I may have made it a bit too short. The pattern was written for American/Canadian shoe sizing and I think I worked out my size wrong. Oh well.

And here is the latest progress from my Lilith Shawl. I've included a close up pic of the needles I'm using to make it up with too because I think they're really cool. They're Knit Stix and they're needles and a ruler all at the same time! I can't be the only one who thinks that rocks.

I'm currently also trying to resist a rather vicious Startitis virus that is trying to dig it's claws in. (The knitting virus that makes you want to cast on every single skein of yarn and start millions of projects and not finish anything). I'm going a bit crazy with it, but on the plus side it does seem to be helping spur me on to finishing Lilith.
Hopefully I can squeeze in some more knitting time before I go back to work
(oh how I'm dreading it).
Anyway happy new year to everyone and if you've made any resolutions, good luck!
Thanks for reading, come back soon!
