Daimler Gives QCUL with Freightliner Sprinter Van
Friday, December 28, 2007
As a part of the ongoing community relations initiative of Daimler Truck Financial, the company has recently donated a new Freightliner Sprinter Van to the Quad County Urban League (QCUL) of Aurora. QCUL is an organization that advocates programs to support the social and economic growth of African Americans. Daimler Truck Financial has been offering financial support to the group for about three years now and the company said it will continue this action in the coming years.

Richard Howard, vice president of Daimler Truck Financial said:     "The Quad County Urban League does amazing work with the disadvantaged communities of DuPage, Kane, Kendall and Will counties. This van will enable The Quad County Urban League to transport its students to more events such as job interviews, GED classes and after-school programs, and it is with great admiration and respect that we donate this van to the QCUL."

According to Theodia Gillespie, president and CEO of Quad County Urban League:
"Daimler Truck Financial has been an outstanding corporate citizen to communities in Aurora and the greater Chicago land area. The donation of the new Sprinter Van is just one example of their long standing support of at-risk and disadvantaged youth. We are honored to be co-partners in the effort to make sure that all youth have access to quality education and gainful employment. Daimler Truck Financial truly supports our mission of empowering communities and changing lives."
