Carroll Shelby’s exceptional efforts will soon be told as an undying tale to every automotive fan across the globe. Indeed, Mr. Shelby deserves the ultimate honor, like an achievement award to be precise. According to the Auto Channel, the industry legend, Carroll Shelby will receive the 2008 Automotive Executive of the Year Lifetime Achievement Award. The awarding ceremonies will take place on April 16, 2008 at an invitation-only luncheon at the Detroit Athletic Club (DAC). "As Carroll Shelby celebrates his 85th birthday this year, it is the perfect time to honor him with an Automotive Executive of the Year Lifetime Achievement Award. His ongoing energy and commitment amazes us all. As he has done throughout his career, he continues to push the envelope -- as well as everyone in the industry -- to new levels of performance," says Robert Djurovic, DNV Certification's director of automotive services-North America, and chairman of the nominating committee. "I've had a lot of fun over my life with cars and I'm not done yet. Much of my success has been due to wonderful people who joined one of my racing teams or companies.
