Say you want to make your own Bebo skin, creating skins for Bebo is a several step process. The most efficient program to use for creating a skin for Bebo is Photoshop(Photoshop CS3 is amazing!). If you are a Photoshop pro, you should have no problem creating a cool skin. You will need create seven different modules (I know, seven!) for each of your Bebo layouts. You can look on the tutorial on Bebo for the exact dimensions for all of the graphics you will need for your Bebo skins, and get started.
The popular style of Bebo skins is to have a large main background where you have a cool graphic, then you can add graphics that complement that style as the modules throughout the page. The background color selection is also key. You’ll want a solid color for the background of each module to blend the graphic with the background color of each section. Don’t forget to "save your skin for the web"(you'll have to to keep the file size down), then upload your new skin to: http://www.bebo.com/Skins.jsp. If you’re VERY lucky, they’ll even select it as a Bebo.com featured skin, which will send you lots of profile views, but they only accept about 1%. So keep on practicing!
In my next post I will try to go over this in more detail... For now, if all of this sounds too complicated, you can always get a skin made by a pro skinner at Bebostation.com! |
