The Big Bad Wreck

TOTALLY DUDE!!

     On April 12, 2002 I had a tremendous bicycle accident, which resulted in a ruptured spleen and a scar underneath my left eye.  I was with two of my friends and I was jumping a rock.  My front wheel came off and I went flying over the handlebars.  We have jumped this same rock numerous of times and ended up being fine.  This time was a different story.

     My Mom and Dad rushed me to St. Joseph's hospital.  They were goin to transport me to Morgantown by EMS, but they found out I had a ruptured spleen.  I was then flown to Morgantown.

     I remember waving goodbye to my friend who was with me, Kayla, and her mom and dad.  I had a neck brace on so I couldnt raise my head, so I just waved.  I blacked out from the whole thing and I woke up half way to the hospital.  I had rocks and dirt in the humungous "hole" in my face and was scraped all up my left side on my arm.  Also, my face was scratched to pieces.

     Well, I spent about two days in Morgantown Hospital and got to come home.  I could barely walk.  The minute I got home my friend, Kayla and her mom and dad came to visit me.  It really meant alot to me for them to do that because it showed me how much they actually cared.  You really see who cares about you when something tremendous happens to you.  My scar still remains 4 years later and I will probably live with it the rest of my life.
