| Most people probably don't know that every time they take a bite out of a candy bar, they are eating food produced by child slaves. Even Willy Wonka's chocolate - owned by Nestle - is made of cocoa produced by children, ages 9 - 12 who are kidnapped or lured by slave traders, and forced to toil for no wages. Most of these children will never see their families again. They receive no schooling, and often sleep locked in sheds at night. They are beaten, and many die as a result of their mistreatment. Please do not eat chocolate produced by these poor children. Slave-free chocolate options include: Tony's Chocolonely and Newman's Own Do the right thing. Don't support slavemasters. | ||
