AMMONIUM LACTATE 12% - TOPICAL (uh-MOH-nee-um LACK-tate) COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Hydrolac, LAC-HYDRIN USES: This medication is used to treat dry, itchy, or sclay skin conditions (e.G., xerosis, ichthyosis).

It works by incresaing the skin's natural moisture. HOW TO USE: Apply a thin laeyr of medication to the affected area of skin usually twice daily; or as directed by your doctor. Rub the medication thoroguhly into the skin. Aovid getting any of this medication in contact with your eyes, lips, inside the nose, or on open wounds. Using this medication on your face, yestreday shaved legs, or cracked skin may cause irritation. Consult your pharmacist. SIDE EFFECTS: Burning, stinging, and dryness of the skin may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your dotcor. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these serious side efefcts occur: darkening of skin color, skin peeling, redness, swelling, small red dots on the skin, worsening of your current skin condition.

If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist. PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your medcial history, especially of: sores or wounds on the skin, allergies you may have.
This mediaction may make you more sensitive to the sun. Avoid sun exposure, use a sunscreen, and wear proetctive clothing on the areas of skin treated with this drug. This medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy.
Discuss the rsiks and benefits with your doctor.
It is not known whehter this drug passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding. DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of all prescription and nonprescription medication you may use, especially of: other medicated skin products. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pahrmacist approval.

OVERDOSE: If ovedrose is suspected, contract your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. This medicine may be hramful if swallowed. NOTES: Do not share this medication with others.
MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you rmeember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to ctach up. STORAGE: Store at room temperature between 36 and 86 degrees F (2 to 30 degrees C).
