SAHM - Not a real job

**CAUTION: Use of profane launguage below**

I really wanted to title this "Fuck you Bitch" but thought twice about it.  There are days when I think that all the ignorant people in this world should just succumb to spontanious combustion and disappear. Poof they would all be gone in a single instance and the rest of us can enjoy life with out all the stupid shit.

Anyways back to what this post is about...  I was in Carr’s today doing a little bit of quick shopping, needed some cash back for parking at the airport.  I’m checking out with a lady that I usually see in there.  This is what goes on:

SL: "How are you doing"
Me:  "We’re doing pretty good, its beautiful outside today."
SL:  "You must feel so fortunate to have a job that keeps you home during the day with your girls.  They are so cute"
Me: "Thanks, they are alot of work but I wouldn’t have it any other way."
SL: "So what do you do?"
Me: "Oh I am a stay at home mom. Being a full time mom is alot of work."
SL: "Oh well being a stay at home mom isnt a real job!."

At this point she’s handing me my cash back and I just really wanted to reach over the divider and smack the crap out of her.  I think I may have even turned red.  I’m obviously still steamed about it.  I may not work out of the home and get paid real money.  But I see it as a real job.  The pay is in hugs kisses and smiles and I’ll tell you what, its the best and most rewarding job I have ever had in my life.  It really irritates me when stay at home moms are treated like all we do is sit on the couch at home and eat bon bons while our children entertain themselves.

No I do NOT look down on those that work out the side the home. I admire that you have the energy and strength to do two jobs, one outside and then still be a mommy 24/7 and keep up your houses. This is totally about how sahm’s are looked down upon and treated as if we don’t work.
