Ponies and Pixie Dust

Painted Ponies...............

So this morning I am shuffling through my "to do" stuff figuring out what I needed to do next, or for a lack of better words, figure out what I felt like doing.  I had a pile of fabric that I had cut out for some of my new handbags, and a box of beads I just bought for an order of bracelets and earrings that the Band Boosters want. Not to mention the two watercolor paintings I have started but yet to finish. One is of what else, horses and I plan on using that on my website.  Which reminds me, I have to find another art show to get myself into.

Well, my little friend Wink this morning reminded me as well, that she still has yet to tell me the story of the Epona Ponies. The mythical little horses in vast array of beautiful colors. Even some with strange looking blankets on them.  "You mean like Appaloosa's, " I asked.
"Yes," she replied, "like Appaloosas. Except they are of the upmost intriguing color schemes that you can see."
"Really," I replied, "tell me more."
Wink gathered herself up and most graciously sat herself down on top of my pincushion. Don't worry, I had no pins in it.  And while I finished cutting out pattern pieces to my handbags, I listened to Wink tell me all about the painted ponies.

"See," she said, "mortal Appaloosa horses usually are browns, or blacks with a white blanket on thier backsides. With their spots splattered across the white."
"Yes," I said, "those are blanket Appaloosas. What about the leapord Appaloosas."
Wink now had grabbed herself one of my bobbins and began using it as a footstool. "Well, yes those are the horses that are a solid color with spots all over. The Epona Ponies have both, except the colors may not be brown and white blanket, or all white with specks and spots of black. You might find one that is purple, with a white blanket and an array of colored spots.  Or one that is all black with an array of colors splashed throughout its coat." Wink now stood up from the pincushion and stretched her arms out far and wide above her head. Which was greatly mopped with cascades of shimmering green hair.

"Interesting," I said to her, "I think I wouldn't mind seeing some of those! Especially the black with the splash of colors." Then it got me thinking, why yes, Wink had done it again.  "Thank you Wink!"

"What for?" she asked. Such a incredible little friend she is.

"You know, your inspiration." And I gave Wink a little wink. Its back to the painting easel once again. But not to finish those two paintings I've already started, but to start yet another.
