Spanish A cappella Seminar Practice Site

Hello all! Thank you for your interest in learning some of these songs ahead of time. I am looking forward to spending time with all of you. This seminar will be unique in that it will focused on just singing and worship. We have a history and tradition in the Churches of Christ as being an a capella church. In the anglo brotherhood 4 part harmony is even more of a tradition. But amongst the spanish brotherhood, 4 part harmony is not practiced very much and sometimes not even encouraged. I don't believe that it is because of a lack of natural talent in the spanish churches but simply just a lack of truly appreciating and being taught how to sing in 4 part harmony. Above all, we know that God is glorified whether we sing in 4 part harmony or not. But because we stand out from others as an a cappella church, doesn't it make sense that we would want our worship to be the best that it can be? You are all going to be part of something very special...a vocal revolution, if you will! God bless and may your heart be lifted and God be praised as you learn these songs!

The songs will be separated by titles...you will also notice that there are four mixes for each song. That is because each mix is set for you to hear with your part louder than the rest. They are also mixed in "stereo". "stereo" is just the separation of left and right. The soprano and tenor parts are on the left side of your speakers or headphones. The bass and alto parts are on the right side of your speakers or headphones. So, basically, if you are a tenor and are wanting to hear your part...find the song you want to listen to and click on "Tenor-Mi Dios que grandioso es" for example and you will hear all parts but you will notice that on the left side will be your tenor part...you will also know it because it will be obviously louder than the other parts...Hope I don't confuse you! The words are also posted so you can practice. For best results, put on your headphones and you will notice immediately your part!

NOTE: If you are not sure what part you sing, listen to all four parts and see which you feel comfortable with! Traditionally, men sing tenor (high male voice range) and bass (low male voice range) and women sing soprano (high voice range, also the main melody of the song) and alto (low female voice range)
