So here's the new place where I'm going to keep a blog. Hopefully it won't screw up like MySpace does. I don't see an undo function, so I may be in trouble here too...lol.

But anyway, I started working at Dr. B.'s office today. When I woke up, I was so sick, I didn't think I was going to make it in. I was prepared to call and say thanks for the offer, but I can't do it. I fought the urge to call and just went in. Once I got there, I calmed down quite a bit. We got started right away, first preparing a dog for surgery that needed a tumor removed.

I'm so shy, I never knew who to follow around, but eventually they told me who's job I would most likely be doing and followed that person. Apparently my job would entail doing lab work, surgery prep, surgery aftercare, bathing, helping in the exam room, and a little bit of receptionist duties. I'm extremely doubtful of my ability to do this sort of thing, even though I do have 4 years of Vet Tech education. That was quite some time ago (about 6 years) and now I have to try and remember it all over again.

I'm one of those people who feel the need to understand and get everything the first day...since in past jobs, it was a requirement for me to do so. Dr. B. seems like a really laid back guy and expects nothing more then what I'm comfortable doing, when I'm ready to do it.

At lunch time, he let me go for the day. He said I got to see what I'd be doing for the most part and didn't see why I should need to come back. Now I just have to wait for the phone call and see if he decided to actually hire me permanently!

Thank god tomorrow is Friday. For some reason this week just seemed to drag on and on and not in a good way. Looking foward to the weekend and getting some much needed R&R, either that or doing something for once. Oh yeah, Pirates of the Caribbean comes out tomorrow. I can't wait to see it!

Hi,
I noticed everyone on here is pretty new so I can only assume the site hasn't been here long. I just signed up today. I need a place to talk about my relationship issues that's fairly anonymous. Anyway, I love animals - cats mostly, so it's nice to read about a Vet tech. Good luck working out your stuff. Hopefully I'll have good luck with mine. :)
